Services

THIS EVALUATION IS PERFORMED ANNUALLY BY A LICENSED INSPECTOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW.

Elevator / Escalator Inspections

  • General Inspection - This evaluation is performed annually by a licensed inspector in accordance with State law. These inspections ensure the unit(s) compliance with the applicable safety codes.
  • Safety Test (Witness & Document) - This testing is performed annually by the contracted maintenance company and must be witnessed by a licensed inspector. These tests include pressure relieve valve tests as well as governor tests which are witnessed and the results documented by the inspector. Once every 5 years, on traction elevators, a full load test is required which monitors the unit(s) ability to pass the safety tests while at maximum capacity.


Inspection services are priced on a fixed “by unit” schedule. Whenever possible we schedule inspections and safety tests to be performed during the same visit. All required documentation is submitted to the State by VTC and is available to clients through our website login. Certificates of Operation are distributed by the State.

Elevator / Escalator Consulting

  • Equipment Evaluation - A detailed evaluation of all equipment is performed to determine the condition, remaining useful life and any code issues which may exist for the unit(s). A detailed report of findings and recommendations is included with this service. This evaluation may be combined with inspection services at a reduced rate.
  • Modification Assistance - These services are designed for clients who expect to modify or upgrade equipment. A full evaluation of the equipment is performed by an inspector and all points of upgrade are addressed. VTC consultants are available to assist with budgeting, bid assistance, specification documents and ensuring maintenance compliance to your project requirements.
  • Maintenance Audit - Whether you may be having performance issues or you are simply unsure if your elevator maintenance company is performing in accordance with your contract a maintenance audit will help you make better decisions when it comes to the care of your elevators and escalators. After we evaluate your current maintenance contract we will inspect your units and review maintenance logs. Any deficiencies will then be documented in a written report. VTC will work with you and your maintenance company to ensure your contract is fair and you are receiving everything you pay for under the contract.

Forklift Certification

Vertical Transport Consulting now offers safety training and certification for forklift operators as required by OSHA for all powered lift equipment operators. Our two hour class is simple and inexpensive. We generally teach the class at your location and employees are trained using your specific equipment. All testing materials, certification documents, and needed equipment such as televisions and computers are provided by VTC. Operator certification cards are valid for 3 years. Pricing for this certification class is based on a fixed “per trainee” basis.
